Oxford - Southfield Road
The bay is just north of the junction with Minster Road.
The basics:
An adopted car - £3.25 an hour
Automatic
Large 5 door, VW Passat estate 1.8 20v SE
Seats 5 (2 in front, 3 in the back - lap seat-belt for middle seat)
Airbags (children must not travel in the front)
Large boot. Level loading. There is a rigid plastic boot liner with sidewalls at the front and both sides. The sidewalls project across the load space when the back seats are folded, so the liner will need to be removed and stored elsewhere when carrying large objects with the seats folded.
Backs seats can fold down (split 1/3 2/3). Pull the seat cushions up first, then lower the seat backs by pulling the handle at the top right and left corners.
Seat backs can be lowered when the seats are in place to about 45 degrees for carrying long objects that don't need a flat floor.
Retractable luggage cover can be removed by pressing the button at the off-side end and lifting out. Return by putting the near-side end in to its slot first.
Fuel:
Unleaded petrol with fuel cap on the driver's side, unlocked using the button between the front seats
Special Extras:
Radio & CD/cassette player
Tyre air pressure guide is on the inside of the fuel cap cover
There is a trip computer with a display in the centre of the dashboard. It shows average speed, time taken, mpg and (most useful) average mpg - to scroll through the options use the up/down button on the end of the right hand side (windscreen wiper) stalk.
Air conditioning. The car is fitted with VW's climate control and defaults to Air-conditioning on 'Auto'. Press the Econ button to use without air conditioning on (making some other changes to the settings will sometimes return the system to the aircon on default).
